I guess I was too forgiving on the sound. Liam's mike seemed low and there were other quirks. Still, I was getting enough that was good in my spot that I guess I focused on the good part. I also wondered about Shane.

Did you really think the sound was good? I thought it was terrible -- the instruments were not balanced well with the voices, so that at times it was hard to hear the singing. And in general the volume was turned way too high. If I hadn't known all the songs so well, I wouldn't have had a good idea of what I was hearing at times, especially during the first half of the show. I loved the music, of course, but I was quite disappointed by the sound. It's nice for a live show to sound BETTER than the recordings one has at home.
And one question: everyone in the restroom line at intermission was asking where Shane was? He seems to have absented himself from the group recently.

They have been good about letting me come in and play some music at the shop every now and then. I'll make a point of getting over there during PMFF if I find that I have a little time for that.

A truly great shop run by friendly, helpful folk. I make it a point to stop in whenever I pass through Portsmouth. It was from their collection of local music that I reaped the harvest of Mudhook and Oran Mor.

Thanks for being there and supporting the Celtic spirit!!
