òran mór » Reagh Greenleaf http://www.oranmor.net Music in the living traditions of Ireland and Scotland Thu, 22 Jul 2010 18:15:14 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0 Earth Day!… The music was in tents… http://www.oranmor.net/2010/04/the-music-was-in-tents/ http://www.oranmor.net/2010/04/the-music-was-in-tents/#comments Thu, 29 Apr 2010 00:10:05 +0000 Dave Hallowell http://www.oranmor.net/?p=1370 Reagh Greenleaf, of Wandering Tree Arts,  organized the music for this year’s Earth Day celebration at the Seacoast Science Center at Odiorn Point State Park in Rye, NH.  He invited a few of us local folk to join him under the tent and we had a great time  It was a beautiful Saturday morning.  After a race that ended on the point we — that would be Reagh, Bill Perry, Rocky Rockwood and I – started in on some tunes and songs.   Families and many energetic kids were about – so we had instant dancers.   I had a chance during the break to check out the latest exhibits at the Science Center.  That’s grown to quite a place, and a visit that I’d recommend when you are in the area.

Particularly memorable for me – and fitting to the picture of the night sky outside our window – was Reagh’s rousing rendition of “The Rising of the Moon.”

That kind of named the night and topped it off for me.rising-of-the-moon
